• "Record Pool" - This is a promotional marketing tool used by major and independent 
    labels and promoters to reach a specific audience, marginally not reachable by any other 
    direct form of promotion. Record pools distribute product to the member DJs who in 
    return for these records are to provide market research and evaluation to the pool for 
    collation, organization, and dissemination to the respective labels. The fact that DJs get 
    these records is a byproduct, not a primary result of this interaction. The labels benefit 
    by having one or two people in a market to whom they can go to get current, 
    knowledgeable information about their releases.
